The Fowl Comic-Con ashcan
Hi Dan,

You requested comment on the comic you gifted me at the Comic-Con. Here 'tis:

Overall you have a strong grasp of storytelling, character design and page layout. The story is cute but doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a fun start. The weakest element is in rendering and linework. You are spotting blacks well, but turning the form through line weight and rendering seems to be a challenge. No prob. Just vary your line weight (thicker lines on the form away from the light source) and don't scribble-in your rendered gray areas. Use cross-hatching, stipple, masked spatter, or various shades of gray marker to make your half-tones.

Nice production, all around. I look forward to more.

Thank you for giving me the hard copy of this comic at Comic-Con. I hope you had a good time there.

Take care,

Brent Anderson

Ooo...Brent made some good comments.

*coughgrayshade!cough*

You know what I mean ;)

I already said most of what I wanted to say on your latest page "Consider this:", so I'm really just taking up space here.

Oh well. <3

Cool
Hey Dan. I read the copy of #1 that you left with Mr. Robertson, and saw the link here that was on the back. I had been thinking for a while that you should make this a webcomic, and, well, here you go.

Very nice job so far. I like the interaction between Polly and DeMoge.
